Trauma and the Brain

Most people have had some kind of trauma in their lives, whether small trauma (t) or big Trauma (T).  The brain is a marvelous organ that helps us cope with the trauma.  However, sometimes the trauma is not adequately reprocessed and present day functioning is impaired in some way, behaviorally and emotionally.  Click on the link below for an explanation to help with the understanding of how the brain processes trauma.  A therapist who is trained in the treatment of trauma may be able to help with the healing process, whether the traumatic event is recent or in the past.
